Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, colored by impurities of iron oxide. Ranging from intensely deep red to red-orange hue. 

Used for since Neolithic times, carnelianwas once considered strictly the property of the noble class, it was often used as a signet or seal. People holding a high social status were often buried with this gem stone.  

Providing energy, protection against bad vibrations, assists in giving a sense of humor & calms the temper.
